The Nintendo Wii U is experiencing sky-high pre-orders and a massive number of grey market pre-order sales which has led analysts to predict big sales volumes through Q2.
The Wii U costs $299.99 and is the first major gaming console to incorporate a large 6.2-inch touchscreen on its controller. The Wii U also includes NFC, a video chat camera and universal TV remote controls.
While diehard Nintendo fans will likely pick up the device for its new features some analysts worry that the system failed to move forward in terms of graphics or process power.
Nintendo on Wednesday revealed in its financial reporting that it plans to sell 5.5 million Wii U consoles by the end of Q2 2013. The Japan-based company also hopes to move 24 million Wii U games during that same period.
In the same financial report Nintendo also revealed that it moved 1.32 million Wii consoles and 970,000 Nintendo DS handhelds from April through September 2012. Moving at a faster clip was the Nintendo 3DS which sold 5.06 million units including 2.1 million 3DS XL systems.
The Nintendo 3DS is likely to continue its sales triumph with Nintendo forecasting 17.5 million 3DS handheld sales and 70 million 3DS game sales by the end of March 2013.
In the meantime Nintendo Wii sales may pick up over the holiday shopping season after the company cut bundled pricing to just $130 with the choice of Super Mario Bros. or Wii Sports and Wii Resort.
The Wii U gaming console debuts on November 18.
Will you be picking up the Nintendo Wii U console when it finally arrives?
Web advertising is becoming increasingly popular amongst small business owners. This is mainly because it is affordable for these businesses with small marketing budgets and yet very effective. Small businesses that use this form of advertising rarely need any other advertising medium to help their businesses to grow. They are able to reach a wider audience than they would with radio, television, or print advertisements.
One other aspect of web advertising that is unique is the fact that it can be measured. You cannot accurately measure the effectiveness of advertisements placed on other media. Web ads are easily measured, as there are tools in place to do so.
Although the Internet marketing company you employ will provide you with statistics on your advertising campaign, it is also a good idea for you to keep a close watch on the success of your investment. There are various ways to do this.
The first is using a simple tool that is available online. This is marketing analytics software. There are various applications that are available for free online including Google Analytics. This software will allow you to collect statistics regarding your web advertising efforts. Data is collected on various issues such as clicks and impressions. You will also be able to gather your own data on what your target audience views, search for, or purchase when they are online. Many of the websites on which your advertisements will be placed will have some software for marketing analytics. You could therefore also be able to access this information upon request if you do not want to download market analytics software.
It is important to remember that you may not see any measurable results of the web advertising campaign immediately. You should therefore be patient and instead set a timeline within which you expect to see some marked improvements.
You can also measure the success of your web advertising campaign by measuring the traffic to your own website. If you run a store online or offline, you can measure the increased number of purchases or traffic to your store. You can also measure the number of phone calls you get from interested people.
It is important that you keep checking the analysis of the web advertising campaign on a regular basis. Compare the statistics you have obtained to the amount of money you are spending on the campaign. An effective campaign should give you higher returns than you spent on the campaign.
LONDON (AP) ? Two British Olympians appealed Thursday for help in recovering a pair of bronze medals that were snatched from a London nightclub, while police reported an arrest in the case.
Rower Alex Partridge and field hockey player Hannah Macleod issued public appeals for the return of the medals, which they earned during the 2012 London Olympics. The thefts reportedly occurred at the Mahiki nightclub, where the athletes went following a reception at Buckingham Palace hosted by Queen Elizabeth II in honor of Britain's Olympic team.
"I'm absolutely gutted that my Olympic bronze medal has been stolen," Macleod said in a statement. "Winning it in August was an incredible highlight for me, and for this to have happened is simply shattering."
Macleod was a member of the women's team that defeated New Zealand, 3-1.
"While it means everything to me, it has no value to anyone else, and I just hope that whoever took it can hand it in or leave it somewhere that means I can get it back," she said.
Partridge, a member of the men's eight rowing team, said his team blazer was also taken.
The jacket was later handed in at a northwest London police station, but not the medal, according to police.
Police investigating the alleged theft of the medals said a 31-year-old man had been arrested and was later released on bail.
Nearly 90 percent of small businesses network with their customers online, promote services and products and reach out to potential customers. Social media is an essential part of marketing online because there are hundreds of millions of users to be reached.
While social networking is one of the most popular ways to market your company, there are several mistakes that are made all too often by small business owners. These mistakes lead to missed opportunities.
Make sure you are not missing out on getting the most from your social media marketing and avoid some of these common mistakes:
? Thinking social media marketing is free.
Sure, social media sites are free to join and use. But if you fail to make any sort of investment in your social networking strategy, then you are going to fall far short of your desired results. You will need to consider spending money on sponsored posts, advertisements, plus establishing a team for the sole purpose of social marketing.
If you are assigning staff members to social network duties in addition to their regular tasks, then you are short-changing both areas of your business. You need to have a person or persons who will be able to focus on engaging and interacting with loyal customers and reaching out to potential customers.
? Failing to respond to customers.
Social media marketing is not a one-way street. You cannot simply blast a bunch of product information and call it a day. There are two sides to social media ? a give and take. If you want to be successful online, you need to engage your fans. When a fan reaches out to you through social media, you need to respond quickly.
Social interaction online is what Web 2.0 is all about. Start conversations, join in on existing ones and reply whenever someone asks you a question. The more you engage with your fan base, the wider your reach will be.
Find out what your target audience is talking about and use that information to get conversations started. Track your metrics to see what is working best and what needs improvement.
? Talking business all the time.
It is important to remember you are reaching out to people, not just consumers. You cannot spend all of your efforts on bombarding your fans with business talk. They want more. They want conversation and fun. Social media is about entertainment.
You can post about your products and services, but don?t let that be all you talk about through your social networks. Post pictures and videos. Hold contests and special giveaways. Use your natural tone of voice in everything you post.
Make sure your customers know there is a bona fide person at the other end of the computer and show interest in what they think and what they say. Use your social media as a way to connect on a deeper level with your customers.
Every business can benefit from social media, so long as you are doing everything you can to get the most from it. Avoid missing out on a strong marketing strategy by planning effectively. What mistakes have you made with your social marketing? What changes have you made to get the most out of social networks for your business?

ScienceDaily (Oct. 23, 2012) ? The ability of deep-sea corals to harbor a broad array of marine life, including commercially important fish species, make these habitat-forming organisms of immediate interest to conservationists, managers, and scientists. Understanding and protecting corals requires knowledge of the historical processes that have shaped their biodiversity and biogeography.
While little is known about these processes, new research described in the journal Molecular Ecology helps elucidate the historical patterns of deep-sea coral migration and gene flow, coincident with oceanic circulation patterns and events. The investigators propose a scenario that could explain the observed evolutionary and present-day patterns in certain coral species. The findings can help scientists determine how climate change and other global processes have affected ocean habitats in the past and how they might do so in the future.
"The information generated in this study provides critical baseline data with which the potential effects of disturbances, such as global warming and ocean acidification, on populations inhabiting earth's largest biome can be assessed," says first author Santiago Herrera, a PhD candidate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI). The research will also provide new opportunities to examine ancient migration patterns of other marine organisms.
Herrera and his colleagues have been investigating ancient deep-water coral migration patterns from various seamounts -- geological features that rise at 1,000 meters or more from the seafloor and often form long chains -- and other hard-bottom habitats such as canyons, fjords, and continental slopes. The investigators' analyses involve the utilization of museum specimens, some of which date back to the mid 19th century.
This latest study focused on one species of coral: Paragorga arborea, also known as bubblegum coral. This coral has been found at polar, subpolar, and subtropical regions of all of the world's oceans. Few studies have evaluated the overall genetic diversity of widespread deep-sea species, and researchers have wondered whether Paragorgia arborea is in fact a single species on a global scale or whether it has evolved into a set of 'cryptic' species, in which they exist as a set of genetically distinct species that are morphologically indistinguishable.
"Analysis of eight gene regions from more than 100 individual corals, collected worldwide over the last 134 years, revealed evidence that individuals collected in regions separated by tens of thousands of kilometers at depths ranging from 100 to 1,500 meters belong to the same species," says co-author Timothy Shank, an associate scientist at WHOI and Herrera's mentor. "This genomic and sampling coverage represents an unprecedented effort towards solving fundamental evolutionary questions in deep-water corals," he adds.
The team also found significant differences in the genetic composition of the populations of this species, indicating that individuals from each population are much more likely to reproduce locally with neighboring individuals, rather than with individuals from other populations elsewhere. "These differences can be explained by the spatial separation of different ocean basins; however, depth does not seem to be an important structuring factor," says Herrera. "We identified five main populations: North Atlantic, Southern Indian, South Pacific, Western North Pacific, and Eastern North Pacific."
Surprisingly, the researchers found that populations of Paragorgia arborea from the North Atlantic share a more recent historical connection with the southern hemisphere populations, rather than with the North Pacific populations, which are much closer geographically. This connection seems to have occurred during the late Miocene -- early Pliocene period. Other researchers studying different marine organisms such as spiny dogfishes and bryozoans, also known as moss animals, have found this same historical genetic diversity pattern. Furthermore, the findings are consistent with the latest ocean circulation models for the epoch.
These results from the deep sea stand in marked contrast with the hypothesis of a trans-Arctic interchange, which suggests a recent migratory connection between the North Pacific and North Atlantic based on the distribution of several shallow-water organisms such as red algae, sea stars, bivalves, gastropods, barnacles, and seagrass.
"There were many bubblegum coral specimens available from northern locations and very few from southern latitudes to test our hypotheses. So, nine years ago we started to search for specimens in the southern hemisphere, and thanks to our collaborators in New Zealand (NIWA) and Australia (CSIRO), we were able to gather a numerous collection of Paragorgia specimens from the south that allowed us to perform a robust global analysis," says senior author Juan Sanchez, director of the marine molecular biology laboratory of the Universidad de los Andes, in Colombia.
Moving forward, the scientists plan to expand their research. "The next steps from this study will be to test what small-scale environmental factors produce the differences we see in the genetic composition of neighboring populations -- such as the Western and Eastern North Pacific populations -- and to try to identify specific adaptations of populations of this species that live at the environmental extremes of its distribution, for example at very shallow and deep depths, and in conditions of relatively low and high pH," says Herrera.
They also plan to study whether the historical connectivity patterns seen in Paragorgia arborea are found in other deep-sea species, which will give them a better understanding of the origin of the biological diversity present deep within the oceans. "The observed genetic diversity patterns, and the inferred evolutionary history of origin and spread of Paragorgia arborea could explain the current distribution patterns of many other marine taxa, for example deep-sea coral symbionts, such as brittle stars and squat lobsters, and thus might have played an important role shaping existing deep-sea faunal diversity," says Herrera.
This research was based on work supported by the Global Census of Marine Life on Seamounts Project (CenSeam), the Facultad de Ciencias -- Department of Biological Sciences of the Universidad de los Andes, the National Systematics Laboratory of NOAA's National Marine Fisheries Service, the Smithsonian Institution, the Systematics Association, the Linnean Society of London, and the Sigma Xi Research Society.

WASHINGTON?? The White House received emails from the State Department that said the Islamist militia group Ansar al-Sharia had used social media to claim responsibility for the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi within hours of last month?s assault, American officials said Wednesday.
But Ansar al-Sharia disavowed the claim -- which appeared on Facebook and Twitter -- the following day. It was one of many conflicting accounts to emerge in the chaotic hours after the attack in the eastern Libyan city.
When asked about the emails, Secretary of State Hilary Clinton said that ?posting something on Facebook is not in and of itself evidence? and added that this ?underscores how fluid the reporting was at the time, and continued for some time, to be.?
The assault, which came on the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks on the United States, claimed the lives of U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans.

The emails, called ?op reports,? were among hundreds that poured into government agencies that night, officials told NBC News. All of these messages had to be analyzed and assessed before decisions could be made or action taken, officials said.
"These emails are unclassified from the operation center and go to hundreds, if not thousands of people,? a White House official told NBC News.
?They basically say: we are under fire,? the official said.
Documents add to evidence of Libya security fears
'The process is dynamic' Multiple terror groups often claim credit for the same attack, which makes it nearly impossible to draw conclusions immediately from such intelligence reports, officials said.
U.S. officials told NBC News that the public emergence of the emails added little that was new to the understanding of the U.S. response to the attack.
"Intelligence professionals follow the information wherever it leads to build a coherent picture of what's being assessed. Each report is carefully considered and everything credible is used to try to fill in missing pieces of the narrative,? a U.S. intelligence official told NBC News.
?The process is dynamic. As new reporting comes in, you review, reassess, and revise as appropriate," the official said.
The emails, which have been obtained by NBC News, were also sent to the FBI and other government agencies.
The messages were first reported by Reuters, but administration officials on Wednesday played down the news agency report?s suggestion that the emails showed that senior White House officials knew the identity of those behind the attacks.

White House spokesman Jay Carney said the emails were ?open-source, unclassified? messages.
?There were emails about all sorts of information that was becoming available in the aftermath of the attack,? he told reporters on Wednesday.
?There was a variety of information coming in,? Carney added. ?The whole point of an intelligence community and what they do is to assess strands of information and make judgments about what happened and who was responsible.?
President Barack Obama and other U.S. officials ultimately acknowledged the incident was a "terrorist" attack carried out by militants with suspected links to al-Qaida affiliates or sympathizers.

The attack as it happened The brief emails also show how U.S. diplomats described the attack, even as it was still under way, to Washington.
The first of three emails, sent at 4:05 p.m. ET on Sept. 11, reported that the consulate was under attack.
"The Regional Security Officer reports the diplomatic mission is under attack. Embassy Tripoli reports approximately 20 armed people fired shots; explosions have been heard as well. Ambassador Stevens, who is currently in Benghazi, and four COM personnel are in the compound safe haven.? The 17th of February militia is providing security support.
"The Operations Center will provide updates as available."
More to Benghazi attacks than surface at presidential debate
Another email was sent at 4:54 p.m. ET, saying the attack had stopped.
"Embassy Tripoli reports the firing at the U.S. Diplomatic Mission in Benghazi has stopped and the compound has been cleared. A response team in on site attempting to locate COM personnel.?
At 6:07 p.m. ET, another email was sent, saying Ansar al-Sharia had claimed responsibility:
?SUBJECT: Update 2: Ansar al-Sharia Claims Responsibility for Benghazi Attack.?
?Embassy Tripoli reports the group claimed responsibility on Facebook and Twitter and has called for an attack on Embassy Tripoli."

U.S. officials first laid blame for the attack on specific militant groups or possible links to al-Qaida or its affiliates when intelligence officials publicly alleged that on Sept. 28.
There were indications that extremists with possible al-Qaida connections were involved, but also evidence that the attacks could have erupted spontaneously, they said, adding that government experts wanted to be cautious about pointing fingers prematurely.

Knee replacement not an 'easy solution' for obese patientsPublic release date: 24-Oct-2012 [ | E-mail | Share ]

Obesity related to higher rates of infection and other complications following surgery
ROSEMONT, ILObese patients have a greater risk of complications following total knee replacement surgery, including post-surgical infections, according to a new literature review recently published in the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery (JBJS). Because of complications, obese patients are more likely to require follow-up surgery (revision).
Obesity is reaching epidemic proportions, particularly in the United States, and is a well-documented risk factor for the development of osteoarthritis. Arthritis is initially treated nonsurgically, but total joint replacement often becomes necessary if the disease progresses. Consequently, the rate of joint replacements in obese individuals has increased in the last several decades.
"Orthopaedic operations can technically be more difficult in obese people, and it is important for us to know whether there is a higher complication rate in the obese, and if the long-term outcome is worse," says Gino M.M.J. Kerkhoffs, MD, PhD, an orthopaedic surgeon at the Academic Medical Center Amsterdam, University of Amsterdam, and lead author of the study.
Findings include:
Obese patients have double the rate of infection following total knee replacement surgery compared to non-obese patients.
Obese patients' rate of infection is higher for both superficial and deep infections.
The long-term surgical revision rate for obese patients is nearly double that for non-obese patients.
The paper's authors advise that knee replacement surgery not be withheld from obese patients. Rather, obese patients should be well-informed of the likelihood of complications following their total knee replacement, and advised to lose weight before surgery. Orthopaedic surgeons should be prepared to refer them to medical weight-loss professionals, if necessary. The authors also note that weight loss could lessen some patients' osteoarthritis symptoms.
"Although these results are not really surprising," Kerkhoffs says, "for the obese patient, this literature sheds new light on treatment options for symptomatic knee osteoarthritis: a total knee replacement is not the 'easy solution.'"

"Thanks to everyone at PBS. I am so happy to be part of your farewell season," DeGeneres joked in accepting the prize and taking a jab at Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's plans to stop funding public broadcasting.
On the red carpet before the show, DeGeneres said she doesn't see herself as political with her comedy, though, even though she's been a trailblazer.
"I just want to make people happy and make people laugh," she said.
DeGeneres, 54, began her career as a comedy club emcee in her native New Orleans. After a performance on Johnny Carson's show in 1986, he invited her over to his desk to chat. She was the first female comedian to receive that invitation from Carson.
Turning to acting, DeGeneres landed sitcoms on Fox and ABC, eventually starring in "Ellen" from 1994 to 1998. She broke new ground and a taboo in 1997 when she came out publicly as a lesbian and her TV persona then became the first lead character on prime-time TV to reveal she was gay. A record 46 million viewers watched the episode.
Coming out on TV 15 years ago feels like another life, she said Monday night before the show.
"I did it because it was the right thing for me to do," DeGeneres said. "It was the right thing for me to do to not live with shame. I happened to help a lot of people, and it happened to create a ruckus."
Jimmy Kimmel called it a milestone.
"For a lot of people, Ellen is their only homosexual friend," he said. "She's there in their living room every single day."
On stage, he said DeGeneres was his inspiration.
"Because of Ellen, in 1998, I mustered the strength to come out of the closet - despite the fact that I'm not gay," he joked. "Thanks to Ellen, vests aren't just for magicians anymore."
Sean Hayes said DeGeneres made his former show, "Will and Grace," possible. He said her "fearlessness" was her biggest contribution and that she changed America.
"We didn't have a voice, until there was you," he said before breaking into a rendition of "Till There was You."
"Glee" star Jane Lynch said DeGeneres "took one for the team."
"She's the one who went in there with a machete" and cleared the way for other shows with gay characters such as "Glee," she said. "Look where she is today."
Kristin Chenoweth said DeGeneres has always remained kind.
"She's not a mean girl comic," she said.
When DeGeneres first heard she was receiving the same honor that Bill Cosby, Tina Fey and Will Ferrell won in recent years, she joked, "Why didn't I get this sooner?"
After DeGeneres came out on TV in 1997, the show began to tank and was canceled a year later. The feeling of rejection was enough to send DeGeneres into a depression. Still, "Ellen" paved the way for future shows to feature gay characters, from "Will and Grace" to "Modern Family."
DeGeneres came back with a CBS sitcom, movie roles and even a stint as an "American Idol" judge. Forbes magazine has ranked her as the 47th most-powerful woman in the world and estimated her earnings at $53 million last year.
Her hit talk show that debuted in 2003 is now in its 10th season. Among other achievements, that's where she eventually persuaded President Barack Obama to dance.
"She's brilliantly shined a light on society, and that's what Mark Twain did," said Cappy McGarr, an executive producer for the Mark Twain Prize show, when the award was announced.
The prize honors comedians in Mark Twain's tradition of satire and social commentary. Past winners include Steve Martin, Lily Tomlin and Whoopi Goldberg.
John Leguizamo saluted DeGeneres and PBS for planning to air the show.
"How about that? A gay woman on PBS - with public money and the Kennedys," he said. "It's like the tea party's worst nightmare."
Amanda Brown is a client that came to me early this year and expressed her interest in competing. Amanda is a personal trainer and runs a very successful business and blog, Queen of Lean. Amanda and I worked well together as client and coach and produced amazing results where she came 1st? in Novice Physique at the Victorian Titles and 2nd Place in her division at the Australian Titles (INBA, 2012).
Below is a personal letter that Amanda wrote to me after completing her competitions that I wanted to share with you. It sums my style up nicely and says what me and my team at Enterprise Fitness are all about; sharing the champion mindset and inspiring you to sustain long lasting results by educating our clients on the real techniques that make the difference in your health and fitness?
By Amanda Brown, The Queen of Lean
Dear Mark,
I knew when I decided to take on the challenge of competing in a Figure Comp needed a good coach and I am so glad that I found it in you
Right from the beginning you were organized with my training programs, concise with your instructions and I always felt like I knew exactly what I needed to do for that particular phase.
Aside from achieving amazing results I would have to say the best part of training with you is I never felt like I was just an object that needed to drop body fat, you respected that I was a person that has emotional feelings and you supported and coached me both for my physical transformation but helped me to work through an emotional hurdles and kept my focus strong.
I know others that were preparing for a Figure Comp at the same time as me who were left drained, depressed and not making it to where they wanted to be.? It was interesting to be side by side these people and knowing that I found the experience enjoyable, rewarding and most of all felt that this approach to training was healthy effective and getting me stronger with every week that went by.
Thank you also for the mini lectures in Biosignature and I loved that our training sessions sometimes would turn into a mini seminar on adrenal fatigue or PCOS and that you are so?willing to share the wealth of information that you have learn over the years.
Aside from all of this I thank you for believing in my ability I think that is the main thing that made me a champion.
End of Letter from Amanda
For those of you who know me, the one thing I love doing above all else is sharing the knowledge that I have learnt over the years and sharing it with YOU, those who are passionate like me about their health and training and work hard for their results.
I get emails every day from personal trainers, fitness competitors, models, athletes, business professionals, mothers and your average ?Joe Smith?. They all have one thing in common; they want that hot body and are willing to do ?anything? for it but for some reason are going about it the hard way or the wrong way.
And you know what? You really don?t have to do ?anything?. You don?t need to put yourself through an hour of cardio per day or take steroids to put on muscle. You don?t need fat burners to strip down fat fast, you don?t need to limit yourself to 100g of meat per meal and a only a few lettuce leaves to make it to that stage.
?Eat Your Way to Abs seminars have been running since 2009 and the content keeps getting clearer and stronger as we learn more about what you our clients want and need to learn about. For starters after hearing feedback from our attendees we?ve extending the seminar over 2 days to help you be able to retain and apply all the information your given? As we do give it out in truckloads!
Some of the Topics covered in the seminar we?re holding in November 18th and 19th include:
Evolutionary eating and Mark?s philosophy on nutrition . . . After this presentation you will understand nutrition as a lifestyle not a diet!
The truth about supplements. What you need (and don?t need).
Training principles for getting in shape fast!
How to structure weight training programs for female competitors (having trained numerous figure champions, including the 2-time Ms Olympia, Janet Kane, Mark is THE go to guy on the topic!)
How to put a contest prep together: This will save you so much time, energy and money!
The ?Be ? Do ? Have? formula for success. Without this everything fails.
Food preparation and meal ideas (with our own master cook, Kristine). After this presentation you will know how to make healthy-yummy food plus a new addition to our range of healthy eating cookbooks, 24 Recipes To Help You Win Your Comp!
Plus an exciting guest speaker Janet Kane who is going to share with you the very training, diet and supplementation methods we used to help her win her 4th Australian title. She is very excited about answering all your questions in person!
and bonuses to equip you walking out of the seminar ready to start doing things the right way including the seminars manual and slides, eBook cookbooks, step by step plans and for the first lucky 12 people to sign up- our 10 set DVD!
We would love to have you come along and share with you our knowledge and champion mindset to make you not only a winner on stage but in life!

The expansion of the Internet has brought a bevy of conveniences to the worlds of business and personal interaction. However, with these conveniences comes substantial risk, which can quickly compromise personal information and professional details. While it may make sense to simply reduce your online use, it simply isn?t a viable option in today?s economic and business climate. Instead, consider protecting your information by preventing online hackers from gaining access to any of your browsing history or password details. This practice is much easier than many believe?
A Variety of Security Threats
Every web search or site you visit is logged by IPS logs, eliminating any notion you may have regarding the privacy of your online activity. Further, data sniffers are commonly used on public Wi-Fi networks, and hackers seem to lurk around every corner. Each time you enter a password or conduct an online financial transaction, you are putting yourself at risk. The key is not to abandon your online activity, but instead, to encrypt everything that is conducted via the Internet.
The Solution ? private VPN services
Virtual Private Networks, also known as VPNs, are the only sure way to eliminate these security threats. By encrypting all of your online activity with banking industry-level security measures, you can avoid any unfortunate contingencies and protect all of your personal information and activities. Those who employ these services can access the Internet through a public network, log-on to the VPN server, and avoid any website blockages, hacker attempts, and IP log compilations. VPNs provide the ultimate online solution to privacy and protection.
Because the online world continues to expand, the need for drastic security measures is at an all-time high. With more and more applications being created in attempts at lifting your personal information, malware programs or other security measures provide a ?reactionary? approach to online security. The only true way to protect yourself is to take a ?proactive? approach by encrypting all of your online activity.
VPN services are a cost-effective way to ensure that your browsing sessions are protected from prying eyes. With threats seemingly everywhere, it is paramount that Internet users take the initiative to protect themselves from outside tampering and the collecting of their browsing data. Encryption is the only true line of protection when you consider the amount of sniffing threats that exist in the online world. Should any cyber-criminals attempt to steal your information, they will only gain access to jumbled text that offers no insight into your personal details!

LOS ANGELES (AP) ? A top recording executive testified Monday that he was Britney Spears' "lifeline" during the darkest days of her well-documented meltdown and never heard that she had a new manager named Sam Lutfi.
Barry Weiss, who headed Jive Records, the label on which Spears recorded, said his only contact from Lutfi in 2007-08 was when Weiss asked him for assurance that Spears would be on set to record a music video for her "Blackout" album.
"Britney was pretty erratic at the time," Weiss testified during trial in a defamation lawsuit brought by Lutfi against Spears' parents.
Lutfi claims he was Spears' personal manager and deserves millions as his share of her income during that period.
The defamation suit stems from the way Lutfi is depicted in a book written by Spears' mother that detailed the star's meltdown.
The trial took an early recess Monday and will resume Tuesday.
Conservators of Spears' estate, including her father, Jamie, who was in court, contend that Lutfi was never her manager but was simply a user who inserted himself into Spears' life and preyed on her vulnerabilities.
Weiss told of working closely with her former personal manager, Larry Rudolph, but said he was never told Lutfi had assumed the role.
"Sam Lutfi never introduced himself or came in for a meeting. He never discussed records or a record contract," Weiss said.
"He helped us get a video made," Weiss acknowledged. "He was trying to keep Britney on the set."
But in the end, Weiss said he saw Lutfi's role as a "gofer ... like a personal assistant."
Weiss said the singer would discuss with him the album's packaging, choice of a single record and creative matters normally discussed with a manager.
"There was no manager involved," Weiss said. "She was estranged from her family. I felt I was a lifeline for her. She was texting me constantly from her cellphone."
Weiss said that he had known Spears since she was 16 when he signed her for a contract with Jive Records.
"She's a superstar, a household name in every country in the world," Weiss said.
On cross-examination by Lutfi's attorney, Weiss said Spears' current contract requires one more album. Weiss said he has been in talks to persuade Spears to join him at his new label.
"It would be nice to be back together, if that happened," he said.
California motorcycle accident lawyer welcomes the establishment of more groups like the Coyote Motorcycle Mentorship Program, which aims to create a supportive environment of responsible and enjoyable motorcycle riding for less experienced drivers. According to an Oct. 10 news report in the Blackanthem Military News, the program does so by bringing experienced and novice riders together.
Newport Beach, CA (PRWEB) October 22, 2012
With temperatures dropping quickly and sharply in North Dakota, the "Coyotes" of Division West's 5th Armored Brigade are considering putting their motorcycles into so-called winter hibernation, an Oct. 10 news report in the Blackanthem Military News states. While doing so, the soldier bikers of the brigade's 2nd Battalion 361st Combat Support Regiment completed a motorcycle safety rider for the quarter as part of their unit's Motorcycle Mentorship Program, the report states.
According to the article, the program establishes voluntary installation-level motorcycle clubs in which seasoned riders and novice riders can create a support system that encourages safety and fun. The program, for example, includes classes that educate riders about pre-ride checklists such as checking tires, wheels, cables, lights, oil and fluids. The group even partners with civilian businesses to provide safety training, the report states.
It is heartening to see this unit's focus and commitment to safe motorcycle riding, says John Bisnar, founder of the Bisnar | Chase personal injury law firm. "The idea of grouping experienced and inexperienced riders is a great idea. Not only can they learn from each other, but a group such as this reinforces the importance of safety among all riders while keeping a fun atmosphere going."
Recent studies conducted by the Armed Forces Health Surveillance Center document sharp increases in the numbers and rates of motorcycle fatalities among service members, according to a July 6, 2009 report in the Army Times. The number of service members injured and hospitalized in motorcycle accidents increased by more than 100 from 2007 to 2008 and deaths increase by 18 over the same period, the report states. According to the report, these numbers have only increased since the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan with mental health workers expressing concerns that service members on motorcycles may be seeking to recapture the rush of war while taking more risks.
Organizations such as the Coyotes within the military and programs such as the Motorcycle Mentorship Program can certainly help keep our off-duty service members safe, Bisnar says. "These service members need all the support and training they need to ensure that they are safe while enjoying what can be an enjoyable and exhilarating hobby.?

In terms of how much we advanced and how much time we lived on the planet, we've not outlived the Dinosaurs yet, in fact we've progressed exponentially fast. The question to ask is this rapid progression to our detriment, since many debate we're already seeing the effects of our living in this planet, for this length. Is it possible our progression in this sense has doomed us to not out live the other big species of the planet.
Will we reach that zenith or will we die out sooner?
Thoughts and opinions please.
We help the multi-nationals when they cry out protect us. The locals scream and shout a bit, but we don?t let that affect us. We?re here to lend a helping hand in case they don?t elect us. How dare they buy our products yet still they don?t respect us.
